El r\u00e9gimen\u00a0chino\u00a0<\/b>confirm\u00f3 este s\u00e1bado que participar\u00e1 de\u00a0la\u00a0reuni\u00f3n\u00a0<\/b>del pr\u00f3ximo lunes en\u00a0Londres<\/b><\/a>, en la cual abordar\u00e1 con\u00a0Estados Unidos<\/b>\u00a0el futuro del\u00a0mecanismo comercial<\/b> que ambos pa\u00edses acordaron el mes pasado en Ginebra.<\/p>\n

Nuevamente, como ocurri\u00f3 en Suiza, la comitiva de Beijing estar\u00e1 encabezada por\u00a0He Lifeng<\/b>, viceprimer ministro, y permanecer\u00e1 en la capital brit\u00e1nica desde el domingo hasta el viernes 13 de junio.<\/p>\n

La celebraci\u00f3n de la cumbre fue inicialmente informada la v\u00edspera por el presidente\u00a0Donald Trump<\/b>, tras un llamado con su par\u00a0Xi Jinping<\/b>. Seg\u00fan dijo el republicano, ser\u00e1\u00a0un d\u00eda crucial<\/b>\u00a0para avanzar en las negociaciones comerciales<\/a>\u00a0y\u00a0\u201cdeber\u00eda ir muy bien\u201d<\/b>.<\/p>\n

La delegaci\u00f3n estadounidense estar\u00e1 compuesta por figuras de alto nivel, como el secretario del Tesoro,\u00a0Scott Bessent;\u00a0<\/b>el secretario de Comercio,\u00a0Howard Lutnick;<\/b>\u00a0y el representante comercial de los Estados Unidos,\u00a0Jamieson Greer<\/b>.<\/p>\n

Los funcionarios de ambos bandos buscar\u00e1n una soluci\u00f3n a las\u00a0persistentes controversias comerciales<\/b>\u00a0que han surgido a ra\u00edz de los\u00a0aranceles\u00a0<\/b>de cifras elevadas implementados desde que Trump asumi\u00f3 la presidencia, y las represalias anunciadas por Beijing.<\/p>\n

En medio de esa \u201cguerra comercial\u201d, que impact\u00f3 en los mercados y tens\u00f3 el v\u00ednculo bilateral, las partes accedieron a una reuni\u00f3n en la que acordaron una\u00a0pausa\u00a0<\/b>en la aplicaci\u00f3n de las tasas, en tanto continuaban las negociaciones para\u00a0un pacto a largo plazo<\/b>.<\/p>\n

As\u00ed, Estados Unidos redujo sus grav\u00e1menes del\u00a0145% al 30%<\/b>, mientras que China disminuy\u00f3 sus tasas de\u00a0125% al 10 por ciento<\/b>, por un per\u00edodo total de\u00a090 d\u00edas<\/b>.<\/p>\n

Sin embargo, poco despu\u00e9s de celebrar este importante avance que podr\u00eda -inclusive, seg\u00fan el propio Trump- reiniciar las relaciones, el mandatario acus\u00f3 a Beijing de haber\u00a0violado lo establecido<\/b>, frustrando as\u00ed las esperanzas de un acuerdo m\u00e1s integral y duradero.<\/p>\n

China neg\u00f3 las acusaciones, lo que distanci\u00f3 a\u00fan m\u00e1s a las partes.<\/p>\n

En un intento por revertir esta situaci\u00f3n, el jueves, los presidentes mantuvieron\u00a0una llamada \u201cmuy positiva\u201d<\/b>, que se extendi\u00f3 durante cerca de una hora y media, y expuso la\u00a0voluntad diplom\u00e1tica de ambos bandos, de cara a resolver sus diferencias<\/b>.<\/p>\n

\u201cCorregir el rumbo del gran barco de las relaciones entre China y Estados Unidos requiere que lo manejemos bien y fijemos la direcci\u00f3n, especialmente para\u00a0eliminar todo tipo de interferencias e incluso destrucci\u00f3n<\/b>, lo cual es particularmente importante\u201d, dijo Xi a Trump.<\/p>\n
