Sin embargo, en este caso no se produjo una borealizaci\u00f3n del \u00c1rtico, sino una reorganizaci\u00f3n de la biodiversidad a partir de especies ya existentes en la regi\u00f3n\u201d.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph\" data-mrf-recirculation=\"Links inline\">Por su parte,\u00a0<b>Mariana Garc\u00eda Criado<\/b>, autora principal e investigadora postdoctoral en la\u00a0<b>Universidad de Edimburgo,<\/b>\u00a0repas\u00f3: \u201cCuando pensamos en el \u00c1rtico, solemos imaginarnos un p\u00e1ramo est\u00e9ril, pero el \u00c1rtico es sorprendentemente diverso. Los ecosistemas de tundra pueden albergar decenas de especies vegetales en un metro cuadrado\u201d.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph\" data-mrf-recirculation=\"Links inline\">En segundo t\u00e9rmino, Garc\u00eda Criado agreg\u00f3: \u201cLas temperaturas m\u00e1s c\u00e1lidas est\u00e1n trayendo m\u00e1s especies, pero no en todas partes. Los arbustos est\u00e1n\u00a0<b>remodelando los ecosistemas \u00e1rticos<\/b>, ya que a menudo provocan un descenso de la biodiversidad, aunque no siempre. Fue sorprendente comprobar c\u00f3mo la composici\u00f3n de las comunidades vegetales cambiaba de muchas formas distintas\u201d.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph\" data-mrf-recirculation=\"Links inline\">A su turno, el\u00a0<b>profesor em\u00e9rito Greg Henry<\/b>, del Departamento de Geograf\u00eda de la Universidad de Columbia Brit\u00e1nica, subray\u00f3 la importancia de los estudios de largo plazo: \u201cNecesitamos investigar a largo plazo para comprender el \u00c1rtico, ya que el cambio de los ecosistemas empieza por las plantas. Ella apunt\u00f3: \u201cA menudo, cuando pensamos en las repercusiones del cambio clim\u00e1tico en el planeta, pensamos en la p\u00e9rdida de biodiversidad, pero en la tundra, donde la temperatura es un factor limitante, el cambio clim\u00e1tico tiene m\u00faltiples facetas\u201d.
