El Congreso Internacional de L\u00edderes y de Alto Nivel, llevado a cabo en la capital camboyana de Nom Pen, bajo el t\u00edtulo de \u201cLa paz y la democracia\u201d congreg\u00f3 a un gran n\u00famero de destacados l\u00edderes de diferentes partes del mundo, para formar parte de sesiones de di\u00e1logo y debate, tendentes a promover la paz y los valores democr\u00e1ticos en todo el mundo.<\/p>\n

M\u00e1s de 250 invitados han presenciado el traspaso de la presidencia del IPTP, entre los cuales destacan los ex presidentes de Colombia, Nigeria, Guatemala, Sri Lanka y El Ecuador, adem\u00e1s del presidente del Parlamento de Malasia, el presidente de la Uni\u00f3n Interparlamentaria, el presidente del Instituto Asia, y el vicepresidente del Senado de Camboya. El GCTP ha abordado con los responsables camboyanos las posibles v\u00edas de reforzar las relaciones de colaboraci\u00f3n y acci\u00f3n com\u00fan con la Rep\u00fablica de Camboya, a trav\u00e9s de la apertura de una oficina regional del GCTP en la capital Nom Pen.<\/p>\n

Se ha traspasado durante ese encuentro la presidencia del Parlamento Internacional para la Tolerancia y la Paz (IPTP, por sus siglas en ingl\u00e9s) de la Uni\u00f3n de las Comoras a Camboya, seg\u00fan el orden alfab\u00e9tico de los pa\u00edses. De este modo, el diputado camboyano Yara Saws se convierte en el nuevo presidente del IPTP, durante la legislatura actual.<\/p>\n
